[ It's May 1st, 1848. The game starts off in Pallet Town. The weather is cool, everyone's health is good, pace is steady, and the rations are filling! Souji selects to travel on ahead, the game playing a small tune. ]
[ From Pallet, it will take 102 to reach the first route! In the first few seconds of this great adventure, they start this off with... an injured Tauros... ] This is a good start...

I guess. [ Souji is still bummed, but off they go! He presses on the space bar and the wagon continues to move. In only a few more seconds, a new message pops up on the screen, halting the wagon to a stop. ]
[ "Yosuke is lost. Lose 4 days." ] ...Four days isn't that bad, is it?

...Four days? How does someone get lost for four days? Is that even possible?

No idea... Probably best not to dwell on it. [ This is Yosuke, the guy who he met through cracked nads after cracked nads... ]
[ The wagon arrives at the first route, but they come across a sudden river. This river is 612 feet across and 2.6 feet deep in the middle. The choices are: ]
[ → Attempt to ford the river ]
[ → Caulk wagon and float it across ]
[ → Take a ferry across ]
[ → Wait to see if conditions improve ]

Ford it? I mean it's not that deep, and I heard some guy that we should ford all the rivers.

[ Souji nods and selects the option. The screen turns black for a few seconds before it shows the wagon and Tauros floating across the river. It's dead silent and the suspense is growing. Just as the wagon gets close to the other side, another message pops up. ]
[ "Your supplies got wet. Lose 1 day." ]
That went pretty well for just fording the river. Thought something worse would happen.

[ kagami lets out an obvious relieved sigh ]
Yeah, I thought it'd be way worse. I guess fording isn't that bad after all.

[ He nods and presses the space bar to continue. The wagon continues and two seconds pass before one more message pops up; ]

[ That isn't all bad and Souji is happy with it until another message appears; ]
[ "Yuki has measles." ]
[ Souji is just... staring at the screen... ]

Well, uh. It could be worse? I don't think they can die from measles.

I guess. [ He continues and oh, here's another river that's 226 across and 1.9 feet deep. ] Ford again?

That guy did say to ford every river. So, yeah, ford.

[ Souji proceeds in which the group travels past quite well and quickly. He's pretty happy with that until this message comes up; ]
