10 ★ [ video/action ] fast-forwarded to friday, july 15th

[ Here Johto, enjoy a shaky recording from the top of a luxray's head. Today for your viewing pleasure, we have a purple-haired girl, staring at herself in the mirror whose hair is surprisingly not in pigtails. That's right. Kagami's hair is down and it looks a bit different?

It would seem that she's attempting to curl her hair with a curling iron but uh... It's not going so well.

While the left and some of the right side of her hair is curled quite nicely, the back and most of the right side of her hair is still mostly straight with a few limp curls in sporadic locations. And along with that do, this fabulous new look for the summer is completed with a frazzled look planted on Kagami's face. ]

How the heck am I supposed to even reach the back?

[ Kagami mutters as she hopelessly twists the hand holding a steaming curling iron towards the back of her head only to stop when she realizes she is pointing a piece of hot metal towards her head. She moves her hand back, turns the iron off and drops it on the floor. Letting out a sigh, she turns to look at her new kickin' do. ]

Jeez, this looks a lot easier on TV.

Jeez, talk about living your life like it's an anime. Well, I guess if you're a serious otaku, putting up with all that maintenance is nothing.

It takes all types! Some of the hardcore ones go out on the town for new goods every week, while others just sit at home and get everything delivered to them through Amazon...

Besides, it's not like living life like an anime is that unusual... Just look at where we are.

Yeah, I've got a friend whose one of those major hardcore ones. Apparently she can't order her stuff from her Amazon because one of the best parts of being an otaku is looking through the shelves of a store and finding new goods.

... Isn't landing in Johto still pretty unusual?

... the one I know will only order from Amazon because she flat out doesn't like leaving the house, since it's too much effort for her. And she isn't fond of big crowds of people...

Extremely so! It's better than landing in certain other game based worlds though, don't you think? Can you imagine if this was a RPG where actual physical combat was required? A lot of people would still be stuck in the starter town...

[identity profile] usedgrowl.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Still a better reason than my friend has. At least she can't randomly pick something up if she's ordering online.

That'd be awful! I've got no real life fighting experience so I'd be one of the ones stuck. I guess Pokemon is really one of the better games to end up in.

... not in the same sense, definitely not.

Well... If it was that kind of game world, you would likely have been given some kind of generic magic power if you're lacking in the combat area.

[identity profile] usedgrowl.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
That'd be pretty nice. I wouldn't mind a magic power myself.
combat_butler: (It's a fact.)

... healer or offensive?
combat_butler: (Pondering the 4th Wall.)

[personal profile] combat_butler 2011-07-15 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
... really? No desire to toss around fireballs?

[identity profile] usedgrowl.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't mind helping out the offense. Offensive magic is great and all, but it's no use if the person casting is incapacitated.

Besides, I was the healer in an MMO I used to play so I'm more used to that.

[personal profile] combat_butler 2011-07-15 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you played an MMO before? In that case, you should definitely stick with what you know! ♥

[identity profile] usedgrowl.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, my friends, teacher, and I used to play a MMO based on an anime written by a novelist I liked.
combat_butler: (Don't worry; I'll protect you.)

[personal profile] combat_butler 2011-07-15 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Heee~h... That sounds really nice! I've never had the chance to play a big game like that with friends.

[identity profile] usedgrowl.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you're kinda getting your chance now, right? I mean you're pretty much in a massive Pokemon-based MMO.
combat_butler: (Breakdown imminent.)

[personal profile] combat_butler 2011-07-15 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... Only it feels more like a .Hack series thing since we can't exactly log out.

[identity profile] usedgrowl.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
At least there's no player killing though.
combat_butler: (/ninjas into thread)

[personal profile] combat_butler 2011-07-16 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
... yet the Pokemon can team kill...

[identity profile] usedgrowl.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
B-But they aren't really killing other pokemon... Are they?
combat_butler: (I'd sure love to have all manly icons...)

[personal profile] combat_butler 2011-07-16 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Not really!

Pokemon fall under that whole "knocked out when completely drained" rule that a quick healing item or swing by the Center can fix... Even attacks that should normally cleave a Pokemon in two just leave surface damage... It's pretty crazy!

[identity profile] usedgrowl.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Really? All attacks? Can Pokemon get severely cut at all?
combat_butler: (Default)

[personal profile] combat_butler 2011-07-16 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
I... I've heard some pretty scary sounds after certain physical attacks were made, but due to the whole "kid friendly" side of things, I guess it just never turns bloody...?

[identity profile] usedgrowl.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Does that "kid friendliness" extend to people too?
combat_butler: (Breakdown imminent.)

[personal profile] combat_butler 2011-07-16 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
... I've seen people both bleed and break arms before, so unfortunately not.

[identity profile] usedgrowl.livejournal.com 2011-07-17 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Darn. That would have been really useful if that was the case.

Although, if people can break their arms and stuff, there should seriously be a hospital for people.
